Arknights: Endfield is a gacha game with a big focus on building your own industrial area to gain more resources. Here is our Arknights: Endfield Preview.

At Gamescom, we got invited by the great people over at Gryphline to check out Popucom And Arknights: Endfield. We do want to disclose that we did get some amazing goodies at the event, but this does not impact our opinion of the game*

During our time we got to see 3 different parts of the game. First I had to get through some story, combat and exploring mechanics to teach me the game, then I got to do a pretty cool boss fight and finally I was able to explore the world they had where they had a ton of machines to farm for stuff.

The story was okay, it’s your general gacha game story a bit like Honkai Impact, but the gameplay itself is a lot like Genshin Impact, a game I dearly love, and this game does the genre justice in every way. The combat and chaining the characters were so smooth and satisfying, but I did mess up a few times and It was frustrating, but that was also something that was my own mistake, so it does take a little bit of practice.

Just like most gacha games, each character has their own skills and weapon styles, so making the right combo is important, luckily, these decisions were made for me for the story stuff and because it was a controlled path I had access to, but it was still a lot of fun. I do wonder how the game is going to be on release, because I have not seen the more in-depth things like how the gacha system works, and that is a bit important for the longevity of the game and as an incentive to play more or even spend money.

The boss fight was just epic, it really combined everything I learned in the tutorial and boosted it to a max making me have to really do a lot of thinking and making sure I didn’t screw up. I had to rely on food a bit when I was almost down, but that is pretty normal in games like this. The boss also just looked cool and had a threatening feeling to it, when I saw it I saw right away it was going to be a challenge that wasn’t just a push over that could be beaten easily.

There was also this whole factory building to it, but that went a bit over my head and looked very complicated to me personally. I did not have a tutorial for that, but when I asked about it, they said the full game would explain everything to you and really teach you the ropes to master this part of the game. It looked very impressive with all the machines and how everything worked.

Out of all the gacha games I hear about coming up, this one is not talked about enough and I have very high hopes that this game will rival the big ones like Genshin and WuWa.
