The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC takes us to Thebes and some godly realms. Here is our Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Curse of the Pharaohs Review.
The DLC was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, it was originally released on March 13, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
During the story, you will travel to Thebes where another relic has been found and stolen, Bayek goes there to find this relic but in doing so, he uncovers some of the realms of the Egyptian gods and defeat them. The story is great, but it does drag on a bit at times, especially because you go to 4 different realms besides the pretty big new main map. For this DLC I chose to not really focus much on the side content, mainly because it was kinda the same as the rest, and the story took me to a lot of locations anyway, but it still was a pretty cool experience and a lot bigger than you usually get for “just” a DLC. The developer went above and beyond with this one.
The gameplay is kind of the same as the main game, but it does add some new enemies that make the game feel more like a spin-off than the actual game, you will battle mummies and scorpions beside the enemies in the normal world and those worlds are not as small as they might seem at first glance. Each of the worlds had its own look, vibe, and feel but sadly they all have the same enemies. If each area had their own enemies that would reflect the area/gods more, it would have felt a lot more fresh each time you did something.
