The Hidden Ones DLC is set a few years after the main game where Bayek tries to free Sinai. Here is our Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones Review.
The DLC was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, it was originally released on January 23, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
During the story, you will travel to Sinai and see how the Brotherhood is set up there and help them out with taking down the order that has been plaguing the area. You will meet new faces, places, and some returning faces. I really liked seeing what became of the Brotherhood and how it evolved over the years, especially because this is kind of the origin story of the creed’s rules, the way they are going to do things, and why they stick to the shadows.
The gameplay is exactly the same as the main game, but it does have some minor new things in terms of traversal like the ziplines are a lot more useful here compared to the main game and are all over the place in some camps. Using those ziplines wasn’t always that useful but when it was, it was really cool to take an enemy down from really high up on the zipline. The updated Bayek suit was nice, it really seemed more closely to what the creed becomes and it’s instantly recognizable. I do wish the DLC was a bit longer, it only takes about 3 hours to get all achievements and the story itself is about 5 missions long, it does make up a tiny bit in the side-missions where you recruit new people and help some people out.
