Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper takes place many years after the main game where Jack has turned against the Brotherhood and goes after all the assassins in London. Here is our Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper Review.

The DLC was developed by Ubisoft Québec and published by Ubisoft, it was released on December 15, 2015, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

In the Jack the Ripper DLC you follow both Evie and Jack, Evie trying to capture Jack and Jack trying to destroy evidence against him. Jack turned out to be an assassin trained by Jacob after Jacob freed him from the mental hospital as a kid. Turns out, training someone like that wasn’t the best choice because Jack the Lad went crazy and started killing off all the assassins in London. Evie is trying to solve the murders, capture Jack, and find out what he has done to Jacob

The game doesn’t overstay it’s welcome and is the perfect length. a lot of the time with smaller DLC’s like this that introduces a lot of new mechanics they take a lot of the time just teaching you the new mechanics, but here, they only take about 1 and a half missions out of the 10 to just show you. The new mechanics are the scare stuff like scare bombs, brutal takedowns and a some kind of fork that pins people to the floor. All those are pretty fun and add something new to the game as well, it was kinda funny to see a massive group of enemies getting scared after a brutal take down and see them running around like chickens without a head

Everything is a lot darker here during missions, it sets the tone for the story it tries to tell and gives it a tiny bit of horror feel to it as well while not leaning into it to much. The map is also restricted to just 2 areas of London with some new locations that are only available in missions, those few are also very good and fun to traverse in.

SUMMARY

As far as DLC goes, this is a very good one, not to big, not to small and adds enough new story and mechanics to keep you entertained.
