Baseball is a game almost everyone knows and loves if you are from America, but does this game give you the real Baseball experience? Here is our Baseball (1983) Review.
The game was developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo, This version was originally released on December 7, 1983, for the Nintendo Entertainment System but has been ported over to the majority of Nintendo platforms. It’s currently also available on the Nintendo Switch Online NES Service, this is also the version I played to review the game.
If you like baseball, then this is not the game for you, to be honest, I don’t think this game is for anyone in this day and age. It’s a terrible game that is not worth booting up or even trying out due to how confusing and boring the game actually is. The game only lets you throw the ball and hit it, but the game doesn’t really let you do anything else and the characters move like they are about 70 years old with how incredibly slow they are.
The only reason I see people play this game is nostalgia from back if you played it in the 80s because there really isn’t anything to do in this game, I will say that the game is a tiny step up from the soccer game but in a gameplay sense it’s a major step back. The game ended up being so bad that I wasn’t even able to finish the 1st match with a point because with each hit the opponent would catch the ball and I would be out.

It does make me think if I played the game wrong, but on other gameplay, I would see the same thing, the game just ended up being extremely limited and too early for its time not being able to have some extra features or minigames that would be better suited for this era of games.
