“I am a man of fortune and I must seek my Fortune“. Prepare to set sail for adventure on the high seas or in the jungles of India with a double pack of action and adventure, in Uncharted: A Thiefs End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Uncharted: A Thiefs End
Embark on a quest with retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake to find the treasure of Pirate Henry Avery, famous for the Gunsway Heist. Head to Madagascar’s sprawling lands and Scotland’s colder winters in search of pirate treasure. With allies new and old, Nathan Drake must endure and prove his legacy, for finding lost civilizations is everything it’s made out to be.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
The hardest thing to do for some is to follow in the footsteps of the past, this couldn’t be truer than for fortune hunter Chloe Frazer. Set on the path to find the Lost Tusk of Ganesh and pitted against a warlord set to spark a civil war, Chloe soon realizes that it is far bigger than just an artifact.
As a fan of the series this remake had to be included in this month’s lineup, originally released on May 10th, 2016 (A Thiefs End) and August 22nd, 2017 (The Lost Legacy) these 2 games in the Legacy of Thieves stand up incredibly well on the PS5 and with the adaptive feedback, you can really feel like you are a part of each shootout and action you perform in the games.
Uncharted is regarded as a Shooter/Adventure game seen through a 3rd person’s perspective with the additional benefit of having Action and historical takes. A Thief’s End pulls historical information from a 17th-century pirate who, with the aid of other pirates, helped forge a legend that would definitely not be Drake’s fault for its destruction. On the other hand, The Lost Legacy takes inspiration from the Indian god Ganesh and the legend of how he lost his tusk. Presently there are stand-alone PS4 releases of the games that you can play through on the service available to PS Extra subscribers and stack the trophy lists to earn some extra trophies, by way of doing the games twice. It should be noted that if it is trophies you are after, The Legacy of Thieves Collection has forgone the irritating Survival DLC Pack that the PS4 release had (A Thief’s End), however, as a trade-off you will need all 100% of the DLC, The Lost Legacy to get the Platinum.
Lost Words: Beyond the Page
Enter a world where words have power and a young girl’s innermost feelings reflect her writing and storytelling. Lost Words is an easy-to-miss or overlook game, there isn’t much that makes it stand out at first glance and that is somewhat criminal as it is such an amazing experience. The game itself is broken down into 2 main flows, the first being the fantasy world of Estoria that is depicted on the artwork of the game and the second being a Journal entry about the writer’s life and what she is going through. Within the opening chapters, the key point of the game is to utilize the power of words to make getting around much simpler, although a mundane and simple concept the way this game pulls off the basics is rather impressive. Once you get your main objective, however, things start to take a turn in both storylines and it’s not hard to see how things will pan out as the progression is pretty guided, much like another entry on this list the emphasis on emotional connection takes priority in a lot of the games sections.
The main big point that should be noted is that the story is written by Rhianna Pratchett, the daughter of Sir Terry Pratchett who is famous for his work about a fantasy world which is on the back of a giant turtle, collectively known as Discworld. With this in mind, it’s easy to see where the story could have come from and how it can be as good and emotionally pulling at times. This is only made better by the superb performance of the voice actors.
This small Indie studio based in the UK formed in 2016 utilizes the power of the Unity games engine to make an adventure worth a million words. The game is classified as a platformer with a heavy take on Fantasy.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
2016 Kamurocho, now released from his 3-year sentence to make amends, the Dragon of Dojima, known as Kazuma Kiryu, walks the streets once more. Set on his path to find his adopted daughter Haruka Sawamura, Kiryu learns that there is more going on than meets the eye and her trail leads to Hiroshima. In true Yakuza fashion Kiryu is dragged into events that conclude in showdowns with powerful forces. This is the 13th overall installment in the franchise released in 2018 outside of Japan (released in 2016 in Japan as 龍が如く6 命の詩), however, it is only the 8th release of the game series to get western localization. Continuing from the events that lead Kiryu to this moment in time and the decisions that he had made through the stories this far The Song Of Life is a crowning achievement to both Kiryu as a character and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios for developing such an incredible tale to keep gamers hooked.
Throughout the game, players will be challenged by numerous obstacles that will take different approaches to overcome. If you are familiar with the works of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios you might think that this game should be missed out on, from this author’s standpoint, this is an adventure you’d be sorry to miss! Out of the Yakuza Catalogue of titles, The Song of Life is by far the easiest in terms of the game and the Trophies, if that doesn’t pique your interest then how about we make it sweeter, there is no need to 100% the game!
Most of the Yakuza games, now rebranded to Like a Dragon, are regarded as Hack and slash/Beat ’em up, with an emphasis on Adventure and Action. That being said the game is Open World and you have the complete freedom to explore either Kamurocho (Tokyo) or Onomichi (Hiroshima) to your heart’s content, in either First or Third Person. The true power of this game comes from the story and the connection to the characters who you might or might not know, but it’s hard not to like Kiryu.
Crysis Remastered
Armor up in the Nanosuit and head into Lingshan as a member of Raptor Team. Set in a futuristic world where an alien species technology has been found and awoken which sparks the events of later installments. Players assume the role of Nomad, under the command of Prophet, and in control of the Nanosuit players have the choice of how they address each situation. Either in stealth, guns blazing, or evasion utilizing the different modes the suit has.
The game is a Shooter with Action Adventure elements set in a Sandbox world of Warfare and Mystery. Played through a First Person Perspective you will be given full control of the Nanosuits modes and the real-time weapon modification. Want to alter your guns in the middle of combat? not a problem, why not add that grenade launcher to give you an edge?
Developed by Crytek and released originally in 2007 for Windows, Crytek rereleased a remastered version in 2020 for all common-use systems. Still heralded today as a Graphical masterpiece for one reason or another (not necessarily a good thing) this gem from 07 newly remastered for PS4 is as impressive seeing now as it was back then. The island of Linshan feels lived in and although combat feels a little off compared to more modern shooters Crysis is worth a chance. If you are only interested in the trophies however there are a few irritating ones like Delta Difficulty which can prove troublesome in some parts of the game but completely achievable. JUMANJI: The Video Game
Jumanji, many people grew up with this film and how playing a game can have ramifications that one might not expect, much like “No harm ever came from reading a book“. Unlike the series of films, the game is more of a linear story where your goal is to save Jumanji by reaching the goal at the end of a simple path. Overall the game is a simple and relaxing adventure where you pick one of the 4 heroes from the retelling of the epic story from the 2017 film release Jumani: Welcome to the Jungle.
Gameplay is achieved through playing either Solo or Coop, where you will pick your hero and use Ranged or Melee attacks to combat enemies. Avoiding traps and empowering the obelisk in some areas is also required. All told the game isn’t hard or anything it would just take some commitment to complete. From a Trophy standpoint, you will be committing somewhere between 10 and 18 hours in order to platinum, the main culprit of this is all unlockables which will require you to reach level 30, as you can imagine this will take some effort.
The game was developed by Funsolve and falls under the genres of Shooter and Adventure which is pretty accurate for what you do, in this Third Person adventure. Released just prior to Jumanji: The Next Level’s cinema release in 2019 the game isn’t much but can be a fun little distraction from one of the bigger titles on this list.
