Daiva Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia is a side-scrolling space shooter where you travel to different planets. Here is our Daiva Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia Review.
The game was developed by T&E Soft Inc. and published by Toshiba EMI, This version was originally released on December 5, 1986, for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s currently also available on the Nintendo Switch Online NES Service, this is also the version I played to review the game.
I gotta be honest, I had no idea what was going on or what I was doing in this game, but I wish I did. At its core, it’s just a side scroller like Mario but you shoot at aliens and other things, the game tells you absolutely 0 and even the controls are different than most NES games. The game is mainly for the Japanese market, this instantly became clear when the password screen popped up and you had to put the code in, in Japanese.
You start off flying in space and you gotta travel to a planet, there you will get dropped off and you have to dodge all the bullets, aliens, and in the end, the projectiles the boss shoots at you. You also have a shield so you can luckily take some hits, unlike most games of this time, so that was a big plus for me. I really liked the boss of the 1st planet, I’m not sure if things are random, but the boss had tentacles and each end was a hitpoint that also shot out bullets

It has pleasant visuals, and the space theme suits the game well, especially with the NES limitations. The game had some minor visual confusions like the UI, because I had no clue what most things were. Another issue was the water because there were bubbles in some spaces and I expected things to shoot up from it but nothing happened.
