In Dead Island 2: SoLA you go to a new area where a festival was being held when the zombies started to rise. Here is our Dead Island 2: SoLA Review.

The DLC was developed by Deep Silver Dambuster Studios and published by Plaion, it was released on April 17, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The final DLC of Dead Island 2 is finally here and this time it’s a lot more clearly connected to the main game than before. You get to the SoLA festival and get told to turn around and leave, not because of the zombies, but because of a monster and the beat of the music. So what do those things have in common? well, they are both at the festival. You will meet a new character called Grace, she will be your guiding line in this DLC and give you all the info you need, she tells you the beat has a certain effect on the zombies and turns people into zombies without being bitten.

Besides the new human character, there are also new zombies to take down, one of them being this zombie that uses her organs as whips and she also has a screaming power that disables your fury ability, she is rather strong the 1st time, but once you figure out the right type of weapon to take her down its a lot easier for the rest of the game. The 2nd type of enemy is one I’ve only seen in a mission, but it has some spoilers behind it, so I won’t say much about it other than run and do a lot of damage from a distance.

The story is great, but everything together makes the DLC just amazing, especially the location, the festival setting is just perfect for a game like this and it really took me back to some areas from the early Dead Rising games. Sadly, the open area does feel a tiny bit empty, I wish there were just some more zombies there that are easier to take down. Another issue I had with the DLC was its difficulty, It is a lot harder than the main game and Haus DLC, so much so that I certainly died at least 10 times, and in some parts of the story it does set you back a tiny bit more than I personally would have liked. When I did get past those parts it was a lot more satisfying.
