Disney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch is the newest DLC for the beloved Disney life-sim, where heroes and villains live side by side, now with brand new characters and mechanics.
We got invited by the kind people of Gameloft and their PR to come and check out the at the time unannounced DLC for Disney Dreamlight Valley called Wishblossom Ranch. This was a hands-off session, so sadly, I didn’t play it, but they did show off a lot of the brand-new mechanics, characters, and areas.
Let’s start off with the 2 characters they showed off, and they are some pretty iconic ones, and one of them even brings them back to where they all started, this being Snow White and the other being Tinkerbell. Besides those, there are others coming in the DLC, but even for me, they kept that secret. All characters will have their own missions like you’re used to, but there is also a new type of character that differs a bit and brings a whole new mechanic.

This is where they showed off a major new thing, rideable horses, like Maximus from Tangled, was available, for example, but you can also make your own horse straight out of your dreams and find new accessories for it in the world by digging around for treasure and doing your normal things as a drop. The horses are trainable, and they can do anything you are normally able to do, like tending the farm, mining the rocks, and digging. So you don’t have to get on or off the horse each time you want to do something. There is 1 more thing as well, the horses aren’t locked behind the 3rd DLC area, because you can even take them back to the original hub and the other DLC areas.
Speaking of areas, in this DLC, there will be 3 biomes. They showed me the normal grassy area, but also a pretty big snow biome that was a lot bigger than I expected it to be. You can do most of the things that you can do in the normal area there as well, and it really serves as a place to make some beautiful themed villages. They added a ton of new buildings that you can make into the game, and they showed off what they made. I honestly thought it was all just the base area, but no, they made all the cool buildings themselves and made it really feel like a small village square

Something that I really liked was the new duck companion, it just kept following the dev around when he was playing, and even when taking pictures, it really stole the show, always managing to stay in the frame, and it was super funny how it walked.
The DLC should come out in November, but they have not announced an exact date. There is a showcase event on October 15th that will show a lot more and will probably have the real release date. We can’t recommend this game enough. Having played the main game when it came out, I can say that it’s never too late to jump into this game and continue where you left off, or even for new players. What you can do is wishlist the DLC already on Steam, that way you will get notified when it comes out as well.
