Games That Have Been In Our Backlog For Way Too Long

Welcome to Team Tuesday. Here we look at a recent or upcoming game and talk about something related to that game or just tell some tales of our video game adventures. This week I came across some games that i really wanted to play and never left my backlog. So this week we share our games that have been in our backlog since forever!

I know that (shame on me), It’s a very old game but God of War III is in my backlog since it was released back in 2010. I bought and played the previous chapters recently, then I stopped for a while due to work and lack of time so it stayed on my shelf since nowadays.
I really loved the story of this saga so I will go back on it a day or another. I’m planning to do it as mine 150th platinum trophy too but I don’t know if I can do it. Time will tell.

I’m sad to say that my pick this week is a game that I still not have started despite the fact that I purchased it on release; it’s a game that I installed as soon as I got the disc home and a game that is still installed on my hard drive. Red Dead Redemption 2 makes it to the top of my list for games that are in my backlog that I just wish I could play before the year ends, as this was one of the top releases of last year that I feel I cannot miss out on.

It’s certainly not too late for me to finish it, but surely I should at least be starting it… surely…?!

Saints Row: The Third was my first platinum all the way back April or 2014. Now even though I’ve gotten the platinum, my main enjoyment of trophy hunting has been getting 100% I’m kind of a completionist. But I haven’t gotten the DLC for this game and I am yet to complete it. 6 Years! this has been uncompleted on my list. And one day that’s going to change, not sure when but it will. Maybe on my 10th-year anniversary of not completing the game.

Let me set the stage. It’s a cold, windy day, you have some extra money to blow, so you go to your local game store, or go online, and buy a dozen games. You get all snug in your house, away from the bone-chilling cold, and prepare for some epic adventures. Time passes, games get completed, but for some reason, one game is forgotten about. Days pass, season come and go, and then, it’s been a couple of years. You look at your shelf of games, admiring them, and then see THAT game! You then realize you forgot all about it!

Backlogs are a thing in every industry or hobby. Books, puzzles, television shows. There’s always that list of “stuff to get to”. Some things stay on there for far too long. Others you play/watch/read right away. For me, Tales Of Symphonia has been on my backlog for 7 years. Mind you this is the PS3 version, and I’ve finished the original GameCube version, but I keep telling myself “I have to play this again. I have to play this again!”. Days pass, months go, and then I find myself not playing it for another year. It’s not that I don’t want to play it, cuz I do, but there are newer, more exciting games that I’ve never experienced before!

One day, I’ll finally get around to playing it, and finishing it on PS3. Then I’ll do 4 more runs for all the trophies, which are horrendous mind you because I hate myself. Then, another game will replace it, and the cycle will continue forever. But I will get around to them all eventually! At least that’s what I tell myself to sleep at night…..

Backlogs have always been a bit of an issue for me….. I keep buying every AAA game I can get cheap so that keeps adding up. Now that I have Xbox GamePass that has expended even more. I could pick the Yakuza series, Resident Evil series, Final Fantasy series and many more.

The one I really wanna play that I just didn’t get the time to sit around for is the Kingdom Hearts series, I got a few on ps2, 3 and all of them on ps4. But time and mood never really gave me an option to play it…. plus, I keep playing new stuff and forget about the older things I still have laying around. I should really play the Kingdom Hearts series… Summer of 2020. I might review them all, don’t take my word for it tho, you never know if I keep putting other stuff in between.
