We are still recovering from all the walking we did on the show floor in Cologne, and our feet have probably seen enough of Gamescom for one year. We have had some fantastic days here, played a lot of games, talked to developers and publishers and, of course, walked way too many steps in the process. Tomorrow we are heading back to the Netherlands, where we will get behind our keyboards again and start writing about everything we saw and played. So make sure to keep a close eye on Game Craves from next week, because we still have plenty of Gamescom 2026 coverage coming your way.
Before we leave Cologne, however, there is still something to celebrate. The winners of the Gamescom award 2026 have officially been announced, with a total of 19 awards being handed out this year. CD PROJEKT RED and SEGA both managed to take home three awards, while Capcom and Ubisoft each walked away with two. So, without making you wait any longer, here are all the winners:

A nice win for Forza Horizon 6
There is one winner on that list that obviously caught our attention. Forza Horizon 6 took home the award for Best Microsoft Xbox Game, and after spending quite a few hours driving around Japan for our review, we can understand why. We had a fantastic time with the game, even if some of those NPC drivers made us question whether they got their driving licence from the back of a cereal box.
The HEART OF GAMING Award went to Games Done Quick, which deserves some extra attention as well. The charity speedrunning event has already raised more than 50 million dollars for good causes and is taking place in Europe for the first time during Gamescom 2026.
See you next year?
And with that, Gamescom 2026 is slowly coming to an end for us as well. It has been exhausting, our legs are more than ready to go home, but we have had some fantastic days in Cologne. From everyone at Game Craves, congratulations to all the winners of the Gamescom Award 2026. Enjoy those trophies. We are going to enjoy sitting down for a while.
And if you had to miss Gamescom this year, there is always next year. Gamescom will return to Cologne from August 25 until August 29, 2027, with Opening Night Live taking place on August 24. gamescom dev will kick things off a little earlier on August 23 and 24.
We have already booked our Airbnb, so now we just need to get our press passes sorted. The walking shoes will probably need replacing by then as well. Will we see you at Gamescom next year?
