Rockstar Games has finally published the official first-look trailer for the next installment in the GTA franchise, but here are five things you may have missed from the GTA VI opening trailer.

GTA V was released by Rockstar Games back in 2013 and ten years on, the company has released its first details of what players can expect from the next installment, where we will be returning to Vice City (Miami) and meeting our two main characters (Jason and Lucia).

The trailer was officially published to YouTube and has already earned a record-breaking number of views in less than 24 hours, with confirmation that players can expect the game to be released in 2025, which also matches the timeline that followed GTA V, with a 2011 trailer for a 2013 release.

With that being said, let’s take a look at five things you may have missed from the first trailer for the brand-new Grand Theft Auto…

    Brand New Animals

Throughout GTA V, there was a large variety of animals available throughout Los Santos and Blaine County, from mountain lions to sharks as well as your smaller animals such as dogs and cats.

However, one thing that was placed throughout the trailer was the increase in new species/animals that we have never before seen in a GTA game. For example, the trailer showcases animals such as flamingos, alligators, and a new breed of dog.

Although new animals aren’t necessarily something that will be a breaking point for players, it showcases Rockstar’s attention to detail as well as their research into the typical species that are commonly found in Miami.

    New Activities

One thing that was apparent within the GTA 6 trailer was the focus on the variety of activities that players can look to experience within the wonderful world of Vice City.

In one instance, there was a direct reference to an activity known as ‘Thrillbilly Mud Club’ which contained a wrestling clip, suggesting wrestling could be an activity in GTA 6.

Alternatively; Gentlemen’s clubs, street racing, and dancing were also heavily featured throughout the trailer. This already suggests that GTA 6 will contain a considerable rise in the amount of in-game activities that players in Vice City can expect to participate in, once the game officially launches in 2025.

GTA V contained over 500 vehicles that players could either own or access throughout both story mode and online and Rockstar Games have officially published the first variety in their upcoming installment.

For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to control/operate airboats as seen within the opening seconds of the trailer, but whether this is for a mission or in free-roam remains to be seen. Also, amphibious helicopters were also seen during a beach scene alongside jet-ski’s and it does appear as though a helicopter replicating the sparrow from GTA V will also carry over to GTA 6.

Finally, several cars were also seen at various points throughout the trailer as well as a new brand of speedboats. This indicates that players will once again be preparing to oversee plenty of new vehicles, to further expand on the previous installment.

    A love story?

In the opening seconds of the GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar focussed on a character known as Lucia, who will become the first female main character within the GTA series, with another character (Jason) mentioned later in the video.

Lucia is first seen in a prison office, with no mention or sign of any other main characters. Meanwhile, Jason is first seen during a car/police chase before later showing scenes with the two characters together, both in a bedroom setting and another within a heist/mission setting, with the two wearing balaclavas and carrying guns.

With Lucia having been shown much earlier than Jason, could there be a possibility that either we won’t be meeting Jason initially or that the two characters grow to be together as the story progresses? This hints at the potential for the GTA 6 story to be based on the real-life Bonnie and Clyde story.

    The nightlife

Another feature of the GTA 6 trailer which is consistently hinted at is the nightlife of Vice City, which could suggest that a large focus on the initial story could be based in a night-like setting in the majority of missions within the game.

There are several clips within the trailer that showcase nighttime activities, late-night driving, and the possibility of nightclubs being a major part of the story. However, with Vice City being based on Miami, there is a possibility that the beach and night scene will be the place to be upon the launch.

Whether this was intentional from Rockstar Games or whether they simply wanted to promote the breathtaking graphics both in a day and night setting remains to be seen.

GTA 6 will be officially released via the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X&S at some point in 2025, but players will have to await further details in regards to prices, other console versions, and the official release date. However, one thing that is for certain is that GTA 6 is officially on the way, meaning it’s time to make the most out of Los Santos whilst you still can.
