Hellblade is a narrative-driven story from Ninja Theory, released in 2017. It can be played on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. All three versions have unlockables for completing certain actions within the game, known as Achievements on Steam and Xbox and Trophies on PlayStation. Although throughout the game most Trophies will come through the natural progression of the unfolding story for Senua, there is a single Trophy for pretty much obtaining the Collection within the game. While there are, some would say, multiple collection items within the World of Senua’s Sacrifice this trophy, Stories From the North, only requires you to locate a total of 44 Rune Stones scattered through the 11 chapters of the game. The other collection item within the game is Hidden Faces, which is a part of the environment resembling a Face and is not needed for anything unlocked outside of the game. The entire game with obtaining the Platinum Trophy can be achieved within a single sitting of around 7 Hours, below is a breakdown of the Trophies in a Smaller Guide Format. Here is our Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Trophy Guide.
Trophy Roadmap:

Tips & Strategies:
Since the game is so straightforward it seems counterproductive to provide overwhelming information to help with the obtaining of trophies when 90% are related to narrative progression. That all being said there are some things that might help with your journey to platinum.
- The game has no Manual Saving and can only be saved through Autosaving.
- There is no real difficulty since a lot of the time will be spent outside of combat, however, there is a Combat Difficulty, which can be set to whatever you would like.
- During Combat, the best way to take out enemies is using a Perfect Block and then a Heavy Attack
- Although you are warned that there is a Perma-Death feature the Author didn’t experience it and they tested it by dying a lot. It is thought to just be a psychological threat rather than something that will happen, since this is what the game mimics, with it being of that nature it is fair to assume this is the case.
- Chapters as set up by the Lorestones you can obtain rather than the Trophy Unlocks
- There are always multiple perspectives to Situations, don’t think just because the answer is simple you can’t find a more comfortable way to achieve the same outcome. This is mainly for combat.
- The game is made for PS4 and you may experience unexpected behaviour patterns when playing the game on the PS5. This is an in-game warning when starting it on a PS5

![]() | Trust Your Senses ![]() Complete the Blindness Shard Challenge |
STORY – Chapter 9 (Our Collection Refers to this as 9 since the chapters are divided clearly)
This is for completing the Trial of the Blind which has NO Rune Stones and you are in a black environment most of the time where only Senua and some parts of the world are visible. The idea behind this chapter is to use your hearing and instincts to get you through.

![]() | Different Perspectives ![]() Complete the Tower Shard Challenge |
STORY- Chapter 7
This is awarded for going through the Tower challenge. While it introduces new mechanics to the game it is a simple challenge where all you need to do is use the masks to alter the world’s appearance. This makes progression possible and lets you climb the tower, it’s like Prince of Persia The Warrior Within.
![]() | Cure For the Plague ![]() Complete the Swamp Shard Challenge |
STORY -Chapter 8
This Challenge is the simplest of all and has only 2 Rune Stones, all you need to do is use the things you learnt in Velravn’s path to progress to the house, once in the house you will need to find the symbols without getting caught. Simple run round to where the white/ Blue light is brightest and avoid the Orange/ Red Light, try to avoid anything which will give your position to the enemies as well.
![]() | Escaped ![]() Complete the Labyrinth Shard Challenge |
STORY- Chapter 6
This is awarded for going through the Burial Mound challenge. This is a confusing environment even if all you have to do is head Left or Right during the playthrough of this chapter. If you get the wrong path then you will end up back at the beginning of the previous area you just ventured through. To add to the complexity there are 4 Rune Stones, 3 of which are located within the Burial Mound. You will get the trophy once you make it to the end which is a wooden door.
![]() | Gramr Released ![]() Pull Gramr out of the Tree |
STORY – Chapter 10
This will be done once you have completed all the Shard Challenges, as the Shards you are hunting for are part of Gramr, the Sword said to slay a God. Just return to the tree once you have completed the following Challenges:
- Blindness Challenge
- Tower Challenge
- Swamp Challenge
- Labyrinth Challenge
![]() | Warrior ![]() Escape the Sea of Corpses |
STORY – Chapter 10
This will trigger once you have the Sword, Gramr. All you need to do is progress forward and complete the battle encounters, making your way higher until you find Senua’s Mother.
![]() | Into the Mountain ![]() Enter Helheim |
STORY – Chapter 10
This is awarded for returning to the big door you passed in Chapter 5 and finally getting to head into Helheim. There isn’t really anything more to it than being set after the Warrior Trophy.
![]() | Tamed the Beast ![]() Defeat Fenrir |
STORY – Chapter 10
This is the boss that is introduced shortly after you unlock Into the Mountain and is the monster that is hunting you through the darkness in the mountain within this chapter. After losing Dillion’s head Senua starts to make her way down into the pit where she will finally confront the beast and slay it. Simply dodge the attacks and counter, and use the mirror if you need to but the boss is not all that difficult to defeat, every now and then he will run away to attack from the shadows but look around and the game will prompt you where the attack is coming from.

![]() | The Final Battle ![]() Confront Hela |
STORY – Chapter 11
This is awarded for making your way to Hela and battling her. Once you step through the portal where Druth’s Rune Stones are you will be in the last battle. From here all you need to do is battle your way to the final platform and, simply die. The last trophy in the game is technically to embrace death and let go of the past, meaning to let go of Dillion and the quest Senua set out to do.
![]() | Stories From the North ![]() Collect all of the Lorestones |
COLLECTION
This is the only trophy throughout the game which you might miss out on unlocking, the reason for this is there is no Chapter Selection so if you miss a Rune Stone you will need to return to the very beginning of the game to collect all of them. The good news is the game is short meaning that you will probably make a second run pretty fast if you need to, the bad news is you still won’t be able to skip cutscenes.
During the opening 20 minutes of the game you will encounter your first puzzle, shortly after (some would say before) meeting a spiritual memory of a man Senua knew, this man is named Druth. Druth is a Scholar and storyteller for Senua, presumably, he is the one who leaves these Lorestones for her to find. Below is an image of one of the Lorestones to help you know what you are looking for.

To make this trophy a little less painful there is a breakdown below of all the Lorestones and what chapter you can find them in. You will also find a Video highlighting all the Lorestones.
| Chapter: | Amount of Lorestones: |
| Chapter 1: The Road to Hel | 4 |
| Chapter 2: Valravyn’s Keep | 5 |
| Chapter 3: Surtr’s Domain | 5 |
| Chapter 4: The Bridge to Hel | 2 |
| Chapter 5: Shipwreck Shore | 6 |
| Chapter 6: Labyrinth Shard Trial | 4 |
| Chapter 7: Tower Shard Trial | 6 |
| Chapter 8: Swamp Shard Trial | 2 |
| Chapter 10: Helheim | 6 |
| Chapter 11: Hela’s Sanctum | 4 |
Upon interacting with the final one you will obtain the trophy, however, there is a closing to this trophy before confronting Hela. During your “Sacrificial Walk” to your final battle there will be a portal and around the portal is the Runes from the Lorestones which you have collected. The ones you have picked up will illuminate while the ones you missed will stay dark, if you have them all Druth will step forward revealing that he was not the only one the Northmen gave sanctuary to. If you didn’t collect them all you will get a different cutscene but it will appear the same.
