Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is the sequel to the highly praised game, with new locations and a new adventure to follow. Here is our Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Preview.
At Gamescom, we got invited by the kind people over at Plaion to check out Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and play one of the missions and talk to one of the lead developers of the game. We do want to disclose that we did get some goodies at the event*
So we got pretty long with the game, but it was in a pretty controlled environment with a clear linear line to what to do, so sadly we didn’t get to check out the bigger scale of the game, but we didn’t really need that because what we got was pretty enjoyable. We had to defend the honor of a swordsman and help him to stay out of jail with a duel. But we could not start the duel, so we had to steal the sword of the opposite group and hang it up somewhere so it would look like they started the duel.
So there was a bunch of dialogue to pick from and go through, so it seems the game is very heavy on that, which is not something I mind, but it did take a bit away from the experience at the time, but looking back on it, it was something that was for sure needed to get through it, but it also made me not sure if the whole game is like that or just small parts and that was just a part we got to see, but the gameplay made up for it.

So the first big of gameplay was sneaking around and getting inside the building of the swords guild, which was not extremely hard, but it was a bit hard to find the actual entrance, so walking around I did manage to take in some of the city and it was absolutely stunning. When I finally did get into the house, I had to lockpick which was a bit harder then I expected, but it might just be a me issue. While my theft went smoothly, our editor Mike somehow managed to break the game, but don’t worry, the dev told us that he was the only one who got this issue and they would look into it.
The gameplay was a lot faster than I expected, but the combat was personally not for my liking, its really different from other games, so having never played the 1st game and then jumping somewhere later in the 2nd, made it a bit harder to get around some things, but none the less, this made me interested enough to want to check out the 1st game, because Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is one of the major games to look out for in the first half of 2025!

Overall we have nothing but positive things to say about the game, it was an absolutely stunning experience and a must watch next year. So don’t forget to wishlist the game on steam or pre-order on other platforms!
