Introduction:

Welcome to the Ladders by POWGI Trophy Guide!
Lightwood Games are back and they bring with them their POWGI series to the PS5. This time there are 150 puzzles in total within Ladders by POWGI, however for the platinum we are only required to complete 50 and complete a few miscellaneous tasks along the way.

Roadmap:

Step 1: Complete the puzzles outlined in The Leashed You Could Do
The puzzles within this game progressively get harder as you work your way through the pages, so it is advised that you complete the first 22 puzzles until they start getting more rungs in the ladders and then move on as per the solutions in The Leashed You Could Do.
You will need to finish on the last puzzle to ensure you obtain One Step Beyond, however below I have provided solutions to all the puzzles required for the Platinum within The Leashed You Could Do.

Things to look out for –

• For your first puzzle head to A Descent Strategy to find how to obtain this trophy and the solution.
• On the second puzzle head to Rise to the Challenge to find how to obtain this trophy and the solution.
• On the third puzzle head to Making Ends Meet to find how to obtain this trophy and the solution.
• You will need to go off track slightly to obtain Give me a “Q” in Puzzle 23 (which results in a failed level) and then return to the solutions list for the remaining trophies.
• The same can be said for Oh Grow Up! as we will need to earn this trophy in Puzzle 148, which is covered by the solutions in The Leashed You Could Do.

Other than those above –

• You will need to do nothing for 1 Minute to obtain Paws for Thought
• Make up a word a couple of times for Watch Your Step & Really Stepped In It
• Reset any puzzle for He’s Gonna Step On You Again

First Steps Solve the first puzzle

The first puzzle is the easiest of them all and you should have no problems solving it on your first try. It certainly eases you into what will be an interesting journey.

Paws for Thought Spend at least a minute considering the next move

You can earn this trophy at any point and on any puzzle, simply enter a puzzle and do nothing for 1 minute for this trophy to pop.

The Leashed You Could Do Solve 50 puzzles

The only puzzles that you actually have to solve is the first and last, however for this one I have listed below what I feel to be the fastest puzzles to complete, and obtain the majority of trophies along the way automatically.

Pay close attention to Puzzle 49 where you will need to complete this backwards to obtain a specific letter.

One Step Beyond Solve the last puzzle

Puzzle 150 is located on the fifth page of puzzles in the bottom right hand corner.
I have included the final puzzle within the full walkthrough in The Leashed You Could Do, however feel free to go straight to it with the below solution if you wish. 

Watch Your Step Try something that isn’t even a word

The trophy description explains enough within it to understand what is required for the trophy. You simply need to enter a letter into the Ladder that would make something that is not a word.

For me, I obtained this trophy within Puzzle 3 where I changed the C of the top word CAT to an A, thus making something that is not even a word “AAT“.

Really Stepped In It Try the same invalid word twice

Can be combined with Watch Your Step above. Try entering that A again for a second trophy.

He’s Gonna Step On You Again Reset a puzzle back to the beginning

Simply enter a few words and then press a number of times to reset the puzzle back to its original state.

Oh Grow Up! It was harder this time, wasn’t it?

Lightwood Games’ favourite word returns for another outing and can be obtained in multiple puzzles.
For a quick reference head into Puzzle 148 and worked your way to the word in question.

Who’s a Clever Boy Complete a ladder in fewer steps than shown

This will automatically been earned with the solutions shown in The Leashed You Could Do.
You will earn this within Puzzle 13 where I have noted the “PURPOSELY DUPLICATED” message, if following along.

Example below –

A Descent Strategy Complete a ladder, working top-to-bottom

Within the first puzzle move onto the O of the top word COP and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an A, thus making the word CAP.
For your next word move onto the P of the middle word CAP and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an R, thus making the word CAR and completing the puzzle.

Rise to the Challenge Complete a ladder, working bottom-to-top

Within the second puzzle move onto the M of the bottom word MAN and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an B, thus making the word BAN.
For your next word move onto the N of the middle word BAN and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an Y, thus making the word BAY.
For your next word move onto the A of the middle word BAY and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an O, thus making the word BOY and completing the puzzle.

Making Ends Meet Complete a ladder, ending in the middle

Within the third puzzle move onto the A of the top word CAT and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an O, thus making the word COT.
For your next word move onto the D of the bottom word DOG and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an C, thus making the word COG.
For your next word move onto the G of the middle word COG and press to enter the keyboard area. Change this letter to an T, thus making the word COT and completing the puzzle.
