    Tips and Strategies:

    The Game is pretty straight forward and does not really have much in the way of tips or strategies other than what is supplied in the designated trophy. With all that said the bet tips that could work generally would be;

    • Be careful
    • Use the guard button
    • Don’t worry if you die and need to redo the level
    • If you are low on Health the head back to an easier level and do a run to farm some.
    • When picking a new weapon dont always look for the first one that you come to, look around and pick the best one for you

    Health Fountains

    They arre the Green flows of energy that are coming out of the ground, they can not only heal you but restock you potion bottles. These should be used if you need to restock for a new mission or before a boss fight, the below image shows the first one in the game;

It should be noted that you do need to complete the level once you have obtained the chalice and have redeemed you reward for the game to count the chalice for the trophy.

Below is an image of the chalice which you shold be looking out for. They are pretty distincive even if you have not filled the requierment.

    Wolfsbaneupscale-245262160018212
Defeat the Guardians of the Graveyard.

Once you have beaten the Stained Glass Demon in the Mausoleum you will have obtained the Bone key needed to proceed in your quest to beat your Archenemy. The next location you will head to after the Mausoleum will be returning to the graveyard, and the door just pasted the Angel statue; however this version of the graveyard is different. You will need to battle your way back through to make it to the door, and survive the wolves on the other side. When all this is done solve the puzzle and head to the far gate where you will need to fight the Guardians.

Entering the fight you will notice that you have to fight 2 wolfs. The trick to this fight is simple, they will patrol around the area, after a few moments one wolf will attack you evade and hit him with you preferred weapon. You will want to position yourself in the middle of the area and dodge to one side when one attacks, then move in for the kill when they have become vulnerable, rinse and repeat this. When they hit around the 200 – 180 health they will both try attacking at the same time, don’t lose your cool and carry on how you were, when the Health is at 150 or lower you will have defeated 1 of the wolfs and be faced with the remaining 1. Carry on till he is down and the trophy is yours.

    A Paneful Demiseupscale-245262160018212
Defeat the Stained Glass Demon in the Hilltop Mausoleum.

As the trophy states the demon is located at the Mausoleum, and in order to spawn him and recover his Bone Key you will need to break his heart of Glass hidden under the Mausoleum. Once you have done this you must face him in combat, which is surprisingly easy, and can be coupled with the “Not So Armless”. Simply time and evade his stained glass projectiles and slam attacks, when he jumps to the middle he will be pulling out his Heart which is his vulnerable point. Use a ranged attack, if you are using Daniels arm the Circle Button will throw his arm, to damage him but be quick he might attack you with stained glass projectiles or a freeze beam. When he is down your trophy will pop.

Note: if going for the “Not So Armless” Daniels arm will only do 10 damage to him per hit.

    Demolished the Demonsupscale-245262160018212
Destroy both Demonettes in the Enchanted Earth.

This will be achieved on your second visit to the Enchanted Earth Level. Before you can fight them you will have to release the seal and fight your way to the gate. Once in the fight you will have to use ranged weapons to damage the bosses and keep balance on the platform as it tries to throw you off. The trick here is to stay in the middle as much as you can to keep balance and avoid the attacks sent by the boss, you should have the Fire Bow by this point which will be useful in dealing a decent amount of damage to you foes. When you have beaten 1 of the bosses the other will become a little more aggressive like the Guardians of the Graveyard, defeat the second and the platform will ascend to the top where you can jump off.

    Bone Head Bone Deadupscale-245262160018212
Defeat the Ghost Ship Captain aboard the Ghost Ship.

This is a late game boss, you will go to the Pirate Ship after meeting the King and destroying the castle by releasing the lava. For this level you will need to battle your way through the pirate ship to the captain at the front. He is not a particularly easy boss to fight but will give little resistance to being put down. Once in the area you will see a cannon facing to him which is your only means of damaging him, to aim it you will need to use the switches on either side to move the cannon in that direction. When it is pointed at the captain use a fire based attack to fire the cannon, the game provides you with a club and fire source however the dragon armour is a better weapon for this if you have it. When you have damaged the captain a few times he will summon some troops to hinder you, simply dispatch them with a sword or other weapon and carry on attacking the boss, when he is defeated you will have completed the mission.

    Antagonistupscale-245262160018212
Eradicate the Queen Ant and her minions.

For this you will need to have claimed the Witches Talisman located in the hidden chamber in Cemetery Hill. Once you have done this you will need to head over to the level The Enchanted Earth, and find the cauldron near the start. Use the Witches Talisman when you see the prompt on screen to open inventory, and accept her request to find the amber. She will shrink you down so you can enter the ant hill and collect the amber; there are also 7 Fairy’s located in the Anthill, who you should really save. The first 1 will be located near the entrance behind a wall that is camouflaged, use the hammer or club to beat it down, he will ask you free the others 6 and you will get a chalice as a reward for saving them, once you defeat the ant queen.

Upon entering the Queens chamber you will need to make her vulnerable, to do this you will need to kill the soldier ants that she spawns in the room to protect her. When you have defeated the soldiers she will rear up and expose her underbelly which is vulnerable to ranged attacks, so pull out your heroic crossbow and unload some arrows into her. You will need to be quick as she will slam back down and bring amber tumbling from the ceiling, and spawn more soldier ants. After a while of beating on her she will summon more soldier ants so be warned the 2 that she starts will increase in number making this fight trickier. Simply finish her off and the trophy is yours.

    Pulp King Pumpkinupscale-245262160018212
Defeat the Pumpkin King in mortal pumpkin combat.

The Pumpkin King is in The Pumpkin Serpent level and only spawns after you have destroyed the pods that scatter the map. To do this a simple attack is needed, once all are destroyed the boss will spawn, which so happens to be the big pumpkin in the middle of the open area. The fight is pretty straightforward and all you really need to do is destroy the roots that are around the boss in order to attack him. Once you have taken his health down, he will become invincible while he heals, in this time you will need to hunt the roots shown to you in order to make the boss vulnerable attack. This will be completed a total of 3 times before the boss is down.

    Not So Scary Now, Eh?upscale-245262160018212
Defeat Lord Kardok and his skeletal steed.

The final challenges in the game that you will have is in a coliseum, and have your epic battle that should have been what made Sir Dan the hero he is remembered to be. This fight is in 3 stages with different opponents, your first stage will set you against a few warriors for which Dan will summon his own army and you must keep them alive. The second is against the champion who is riding a horse and is simple, kill the troops who are spawned and wait for an opening to attack the boss. This second boss is who you need to fight for the trophy, but like mentioned he is easy.

The Final battle will be against Zarok in a dragon like form, he will be about as difficult as the previous boss, however you will keep the health that you were left with from the last boss. The fight is a tad bit trickier than the last fight you were in but he still leaves himself open to attack, utilising all the different weapons that you have collected is key to this fight.

    Whack-a-wyrmupscale-245262160018212
Defeat the dragon in the Crystal Caves.

    The Dragon is the boss of the Crystal Cave and requires the jewels to spawn him. The jewels are given to you by;

    • The Pumpkin Witch who is located in The Pumpkin Serpent level
    • The Town Mayor who is located in the Inside the Asylum Level

Once you have these 2 gems you will need to head to the Crystal Cave and head to the waterfall down the right path. This will take you to the dragon’s chamber where you will fight the dragon. Upon entering you should see that there are a few levels of platform with coloured crystals above them, a dragon carving, and if it is your first time in here some pickups. To initiate the battle you need to interact with the carving and spawn the dragon for a brief dialogue before a rather simple conflict. The idea is you use a club or the hammer and bring the roof down on the dragon, as the battle goes on and he takes more damage he will get faster, so it is advised that you stick to 1 or 2 platforms till you kill him. All in all the battle is an easy one even if you take a lot of damage, the only taxing part is knowing which platform will drop which roof, but that can be identified by the colour of the crystals on both the roof and platform.

Once defeated he will give you the Dragon Armour, which will make you invincible to flames and let you breath fire.

Below is the area you are looking for to Fight the Dragon

    Almost A Heroupscale-245262160018212
Give the Knights of Gallowmere everything you have.

This trophy is obtained in the final battle against Zarok. In the entry to the fight you will fight some troops; however you will not be able to attack them yourself. For this Dan will summon some knights and you must keep them alive, to do this find an ally who has low health and heal him up keep this up till all enemies are defeated. You could always just heal a single ally constantly but the outcome of the fight would be less than favorable. If someone is in Red health priorities them over an Amber health person, this section ends when all enemies are dead. The main idea is that you sacrifice all you additional health potions, don’t worry you can pick your health back up in the net section meaning that you will be full health for the champion fight.

Lay all the Lost Souls to rest.

For these 2 trophies you will need to find all 19 lost souls and complete the missions they set you. The down side is you can only do this once you have reached the Entrance Hall which is a late game area. It is best to do that mission and go to the area the soul directs you to, this will complete a Lost Soul Mission and collect your next, going round this way means that you will start it at Entrance Hall and End at there.

    Kill the Serpent of Gallowmere.

This trophy requires you to have first defeated the dragon in the Crystal Cave and obtained the Dragon Armour. From here you will need to head to the level The Gallows Gauntlet and just past the easy exit you will find a wall of fire. If you equip the Dragon Armour you will be able to pass this obstacle and confront the Serpent. Once you have cleared the area past the fire wall you will see a chest at the back and upon approaching it a ghostly serpent will burst out, much like the one in the Farmlands. This particular Serpent however is no friend to you, it will try to kill you so be warned and ready for a fight. A way to tackle this is to pull it back to the area on the other side of the wall of fire provided there are no enemies and confront it there. Basically when you have killed it however you choose to do it the trophy is yours.

Healthiest Man Alive – Er Deadupscale-245262160018212

9Hall of HeroesRewarded for collecting Chalices
    Sir Moneybags
    Collect 10,000 gold coins.

Although this trophy states that you need to collect so much gold you do not need to have it on hand, which simplifies everything drastically. All you really need to do is pick up gold wherever you see it, it’s really that simple. If for some reason you are struggling you can head to Dan’s Crypt and farm a small supply of gold really fast.

    Old School Sneaky
Attempt to perform any original game cheat code.

    This is for trying to cheat. Yes! You read it right; the game will reward you for attempting to cheat. As crazy as this trophy sounds it is really rather easy to achieve, when you are on the pause menu you can easily input the following code to get the trophy;

    • (Hold)L2, Down, Square, Triangle, Circle, Down, Up, Square, Triangle
    Impaired Drivers
Defeat both Mecha Imps and their taunting Imp pilots.

This trophy is achieved in the Scarecrow Fields level where you are introduced to Scarecrows. Simply progress through the level till you comes to a big robot looking thing in what looks to be a long thin pen; this is the Mecha Imp that you will need to best. To beat them it’s really not the tricky, all you do is use a ranged attack and knock off the helmet, then skirt round back and attack the Imp controlling the machine. Once both are defeated the trophy is yours.

    Master Dan-At-Arms
    Collect every weapon.

    Refer to King of Cups

Basically all you need to do is collect all the weapons the game has to offer, collecting the Chalices is the best way to do this however there are some that are outside of this rule, and there is a list below to help you with collecting them.

    Magic BowRewarded for collecting Chalices
    Lightning BoltsRewarded for collecting Chalices
    Dizzy Decimator
Defeat 30 enemies with the sword spin attack.

All you need to do for this is hold down the Square button and release it near an enemy to kill them with it. This is doable right at the beginning of the game when you leave Dan’s Crypt and enter the Graveyard. There are enough enemies on the first real mission and you will need to kill enemies for the Chalice.

    The Answer Is Chicken
    Throw 42 chicken legs.

For this trophy you must first complete the Sub Dungeon The Ant Hill located in the Enchanted Earth mission. You enter The Ant Hill by talking to the Witch in the area, which is denoted by the Cauldron, however to talk to her you must have the Witches Talisman. To gain the Talisman you must go to Cemetery Hill and enter the back room located behind the big boulder left of the path up the hill. You can do this on your first trip into the level after obtaining the Club. It should be noted that you can only carry 30 Chicken Legs at a time so you will need to complete the witches request more than once.

    Witches’ Familiar
Collect the Witch Talisman and complete both witch quests.

This trophy can be started as early as the Cemetery Hill level, on the far right of the map is a hidden cave which is blocked by a rock. Simply destroy the rock with a club or hammer and head inside, there will be a few zombies in here so be warned and head though the far right door in the room with the stairs. This will be the witch’s chamber and where you find the talisman, next you need the witches.

    • On the Enchanted Earth near the start of the level is a cauldron
    • On the Pumpkin Serpent is a cauldron opposite the first building

The Witch of the Enchanted Earth is looking for some amber from the ants so she will shrink you so you can enter the ant nest where you will hunt for 7 Amber and defeat the Ant Queen. You will also need to do this mission twice for enough Chicken Legs to complete The Answer Is Chicken trophy just make sure you use up a good number as you can only carry 30 Chicken Legs at a time.

The Witch of the Pumpkin Serpent wants you to vanquish the Pumpkin King which is pretty easy in comparison to the first, please refer to Pulp King Pumpkin for more information on beating him.

    Zip Zap Imp Splat
Fry a dozen Imps with Lightning.

For this trophy you will first need the Lightning Weapon from the Hall Of Heroes (Refer to King Of Cups for more information). Once you have this you can start your hunt for the imps, they are rather annoying enemies who steal from you. The first encounter with them is in the level The Hilltop Mausoleum; however the best place to hunt these is in The Entrance Hall, the reason for this is because the level is almost exclusively these enemies.

    Gimme That Back!
Lose, then recover your weapon from an Imp.

This is an easy trophy and one that you will probably obtain without trying. Whenever you find yourself battling Imps they will have a chance to steal your currently equip weapon, and if that happens you will have a small window in order to defeat that imp and reclaim your weapon before you lose it. If you are attacking when your weapon is stolen you will default to your second weapon to continue the combat, this will be your opening to recover your stolen weapon.

It should be noted that if you fail to recover your stolen weapon then you will have to go to the shop the next mission you deploy into. Depending on what was stolen will determine how much you need to pay to recover the weapon; however this is not always a good thing to do so it’s advised that you kill the imp before he escapes.

It’s Not Their Fault They’re Mad
    Don’t harm the Mad Family.

As you see in the Intro to the game Zarok has corrupted the villagers of Gallowmere with his magic. Due to Sir Danial Fortisque being a Hero he is not allowed to hurt the villagers as this would make a bad impression and paint him in a bad light, so this trophy exploits the heroism of Sir Dan. The majority of this trophy is so straight forward it’s unnerving and there is only really a single place that you will need to worry which is in the building where you recover the Bust. There is a video below on how to do this but as long as you do not attack in close proximity to a villager you should be good, the only exception to attacking near a villager is the room with the Bust.

    Deathly Smorgasbord
    Die 7 different ways.

    GLITCHY

    This trophy should need no explanation, we all know that dying in games comes naturally and here we have a trophy for actually dying in different ways. There is a huge amount of ways to die and eventually achieve this trophy so you shouldn’t need any help, however if you have died more than 7 different ways and still do not have the trophy then just look below at the 2 points to make sure they counted;

    • You got a Game Over Screen
    • Your Positive it’s a new death

If you are still positive then you might want to try starting a new game to get only the deaths. From starting a new game this should take under an hour and can be done before or just after returning to the Cemetery. Below is a list of some possible deaths you could use, just remember you need a Game Over Screen.

    Partial To The Potions
    Drink 32 Health Vials.

Another easy trophy like the It’s Not Their Fault They’re Mad, simply drink, or collect the small health potions that you can find throughout the world.

    Now With Added Magic!
    Enchant the Broad Sword.

Simple thing to complete, once you have the Broadsword you will note that there is a % of Power. In order to enchant you will need to use some of the power of the weapon, when you have some power used just head over to a Merchant and pay for the sword to be re-enchanted.

    Mostly Armless
Kill something with your own arm.

This can be done when you enter the Graveyard, simply walk up to a zombie and kill him with your arm.

    Rock Wrangler
Avoid all the rolling rocks on Cemetery Hill.

Once you have made it to Cemetery Hill you will see that there are 2 gargoyles spitting rocks at you, your goal is to not get hit while you ascend up to the peak. Use your shield and block where you feel like you need to, use the shortcuts and make it to the top.

    Colonel Fortesque’s Special Recipe
Turn an enemy into a Roasted Chicken and eat it.

As odd as this sounds it’s easy, all you need to do is have completed the Ant Hill level. The Reward you will get is 30 Chicken Drumsticks which you will need for “The Answer Is Chicken”, however this trophy requires you to throw one at an enemy which will turn them in to Roast Chicken. When this happens just run over it to pick it up, which will get you the trophy?

    Not So Armless
Defeat Stained Glass Demon with just your arm.

Refer to “A Paneful Demise” for more information.

    A Shocking Lack Of Respect
    Destroy 100 gravestones.

This is achieved in the early game, simply destroy gravestones where you see them in the level and sooner or later you will meet the much needed 100.

    • Graveyard
    • Cemetery Hill
    • Return to the Graveyard

Above are the 3 levels that will have the gravestones, and there are a good number in each. Below are some examples of them.

    That’s Just Mean!
    Smash a severed hand.

When you have a club or the Hammer head over to one of the graveyard levels and find one of those pesky hands. Now all you need to is use a slamming attack on it and kill it.

    Walls Are For Chumps
Return to Dan’s Crypt and smash down the secret wall.

Within the first level there is a secret room located behind a hidden wall. This wall cannot be damaged until you have the Club or Hammer, which the earliest you can get one of these weapons is once you have been to Cemetery Hill. Upon returning here you will be looking for the location shown in the video below.

When you have found this simply hit the wall and you head inside.

    Arsonist
    Set 50 enemies on fire.

Once you have either the Fire Arrows or Dragon Armour you can attempt this trophy, the best weapon for this is the Dragon Armour as you have no ammo count and you’d be able to breathe fire at anything that comes at you. Simply kill 50 enemies with fire based attacks and the trophy is yours.

It should be noted that a club that has been set on fire would also work for this but is not as effective as the Dragon Armour or Fire Arrows.

    Stop Hitting Yourself
Get hit by a falling crystal during Dragon battle in Crystal Caves.

Once you have access to the Crystal Caves you will be able to attempt this trophy, and is located in the same area as the Dragon that you need to fight. The idea is the same as the dragon fight use your club or hammer to free crystals in the roof, however with this trophy you will need to free a crystal then dart over to the location and receive it to the head. Upon catching the crystal with you skull the trophy is yours.
