Nippets Review

Nippets is a delightful interactive hidden object game where you travel through the seasons, helping people find lost items, cats, and occasionally dealing with pesky birds.

There are plenty of birds in the game, but they are not the main focus. Each season gives you a list of items to find for the locals. Sometimes you’ll need to locate a dozen of the same object, like snowballs in winter or a bunch of cats in spring. Every season has its own unique tasks and locations, and it’s not as easy as it first seems. The game can actually get quite challenging at times and requires some out-of-the-box thinking: opening windows, doors, moving gnomes to the right spots, and hunting for well-hidden objects. I once spent over 15 minutes searching for gnomes in the autumn level! Yet despite the difficulty, it remains a ton of fun.

Besides the main tasks, most levels also contain unmarked side objectives, some of which are tied to achievements. For example, in the summer level there’s a portal gun that looks like a cool Easter egg at first. After clicking around, I discovered you can actually shoot portals with it. This shows how rewarding it is to experiment and click on everything. The developers did an excellent job making the world feel alive, even with the simple characters that are mostly there to populate the scenes.

One thing I absolutely loved was the music. It’s the same relaxing track from the trailer above, and it plays throughout the entire game. The music perfectly complements the atmosphere and never becomes annoying like in some other hidden object games. You just vibe with it from start to finish.

Overall, Nippets is a very enjoyable, laid-back hidden object game that still keeps you attentive and engaged. My only small complaint is that I wish there was a hint button or that the descriptions at the bottom gave a slightly better clue, especially when hunting for the last gnome.

The game is priced at around $12, which feels fair after the great time I had with it. I spent over 2 hours trying to unlock all achievements (I’m still missing one bird-related achievement despite trying for a long time). With its interactive world, there’s rarely a boring moment, just a handful of frustrating ones when you can’t figure something out right away. That challenge is actually part of the charm: learning the environment, checking different rooms, opening closed windows, and discovering places you might not have thought to look at first glance.
