Our Favorite Video Game Creatures

Welcome to Team Tuesday. Here we look at a recent or upcoming game and talk about something related to that game. This week we will see the release of Journey to the Savage Planet. In that game, it looks like there are so many cool creatures to find! so that made us think, what are our favorite video game creatures?

So, this week for me is a bit of a cop-out, I really love pokemon so those are creatures right? That’s why my pick this week is my favorite pokemon: Blaziken! from the moment Pokemon Ruby came out he was always my go-to pokemon in any Pokemon game onward. His style is amazing, he got some great moves and of course, he is my favorite color, red. With him by your side you got nothing to fear.

So sad that he isn’t in Pokemon Sword and Shield because that’s the only reason I waited 3 months to buy the game!

What comes to mind when you hear the word “Creature”? To some, you might think of a skag from borderlands or a head crab from Half-Life or even a Necromorphs from Dead Space, or just any other gray-ish 4 legged creature. But I think of the gray 4 legged Colossi from Shadow of the Colossus.

The Colossi from this game is magnificent and breathtaking even for the PS2 version but, with the PS4 remake, the Colossi have become extremely beautiful with amazing Fur and Stone textures that make up their bodies. The winds rushing through the Fur of the colossus beasts.

Whoever dreamed up these beautiful beasts, I wished they would make another game. Team Ico, The team behind the game rarely make games and just looking at the 3 games they have made over the course of 20 years, there’s something special about the games they make. The creatures they’ve made across their games are amazing. But, Shadow of the Colossus truly is their best work.

Introduced in Job Simulator and later making a return within Vacation Simulator, the “Bots” of Owlchemy Labs Simulator series have fast become my favorite video game creatures… Ok, well there is an argument that they are not technically creatures, but with the definition of a creature being “a fictional or imaginary being” I’m sticking with my pick this week.

The “Bots” come in all different shapes and sizes (they’re all actually the same shape…) forms and throughout Vacation Simulator especially they carry you through the game with their insightful dialogue and humor.

I mean who wouldn’t want a Chef Bot that cooks all your food for you, or a Mountain Yeti Bot to try and spot whilst hiking..?! I know I would! And I’m looking forward to their next endeavors.

Are you interested in finding out more about these “creatures”? Why not check out our guide?

This week was another hard one because there are so many creatures in the videogames world that it was so difficult to choose only one of them.
However, my nomination goes to the Big Daddies from the Bioshock series. These creatures are humans which have mutated because of the ADAM and grafted inside a heavy suit. Their only purpose is to protect Little Sisters while wandering around Rapture.

Who never dreamed about having a bodyguard like him while playing Bioshock? Unfortunately, you can only face up to them and swear he doesn’t kill you first as they are the toughest enemies in the game but, despite their creepiness and their powers, I always loved the bond between them and these Little Sisters.

KUPO! KUPO! KUPO! That is the noise that Moogles make. Moogles are a fantastic creature found in the universe of Final Fantasy. They range from all different things in the universe. From store keep, to save point, to playable characters!

Now Moogles are found in a lot other Square-Enix franchises. Kingdom Hearts, Secret Of Mana, and those are only the ones that come to mind! These (aside from Necromorphs in Dead Space), are some of my favorite videogame creatures. They’re just so great! They’re comical, witty, jerks, and everything else under the sun! If I could, I’d pull one straight from the universe and keep it.

Luckily for me, there is a lot of Moogle merch out there in the world, it’s just a matter of buying it. One day I will, and then I’ll have my own personal Moogle!! Now if only we could get a game where based on their lore.
