PowerA is one of the biggest 3rd party controller and accessories creators with partnerships with Fortnite and Xbox. Here is our PowerA Preview.
Recently they released a brand new Fortnite-themed controller but also something really special that they announced. So they invited us to come check out all their new stuff at Gamescom this year!
They got a few new controllers in collaboration with Fortnite, a lot of people know their Peely controller from a few months ago, which was very sleek and felt a lot like a Switch Pro controller, but now they have something entirely different, the Ops V1, an Xbox-style controller with a Midas theme in white with gold and black details but also a white controller with a red graffiti theme that reminds me a lot of 2022’s Vibin season with its styling. But if you are not a fan of the Fortnite branding there is also a sleek and clean all-black controller.
They also showed off their brand new Ops V3. It felt really impressive for a 3rd party controller and unlike anything I’ve ever held my hands on that’s not 1st party. It just felt so good in my hands, with the amazing grip all around the back and on the triggers. At first, I didn’t notice how amazing this grip felt, but when i held a few other controllers as well, I really started to miss that grip going all around instead of just on the handles. Out of any 3rd party controller, this really seems like the ultimate dream controller.
The final controller they showed off was the FUSION Pro Wireless Controller and this was an amazing controller with a ton of cool features, but with handling, it didn’t feel as good as the OPS V3, but it really was a great controller in its own right. This controller seems to be more focused on its RGB lights and customization of that aspect. There were many options and I think some were touch-sensitive as well and would vibe with the button presses, it really was cool to see. it also had adjustable thumbsticks, this was something I didn’t expect to see in a controller and is also something I personally never saw anywhere else. It’s a cool pro controller and it does make me wonder how crazier controllers can get in the future.
