The long-awaited news regarding the next Grand Theft Auto has finally been confirmed by Rockstar Games and players around the world will only have a few weeks to wait before the first trailer is officially released to the public. Here is everything we know about Rockstar Games Confirm GTA VI.
In Autumn 2022, several leakers were able to post clips and images regarding the development stages of GTA VI but despite some critics claiming these were “false”, Rockstar themselves confirmed that the leaks were genuine and that work for the newest instalment in the franchise was firmly underway. However, despite various interviews, Rockstar Games maintained their silence when it came to revealing any further information, until Wednesday morning when the company released a series of social media updates on their respective platforms to confirm the news.
Upon its release in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V broke several world records and to date is one of the biggest-selling video games of all time. In fact, according to a Wikipedia article, GTA V has currently sold 185,000,000 copies worldwide which places it second on the list, only beaten by Minecraft. Similarly, GTA V sold over 150 million more copies than the franchise’s previous instalment (GTA IV) and has officially made over $7 billion since its release a decade ago.
December 2023 will mark Rockstar Games’ 25th anniversary since it was officially founded (1998) and to celebrate, the company released a series of tweets whilst waiting until the very end to give players the news everyone had been highly anticipating. They did this by posting the following message…

After over a year of speculation, leaks and various theories, Rockstar Games are finally in a position to release the first look for Grand Theft Auto VI to the globe and as expected, the hype that is already surrounding the game has somehow managed to increase as the next instalment of the GTA series is right around the corner.
