This is a single-player horror game that we’re really looking forward to. Honestly, we’re super hyped and can’t wait to play it when it launches. We’re talking about The Occultist, a psychological horror adventure developed by DALOR and published by Daedalic Entertainment.
Story
The game is a first-person narrative thriller. You step into the shoes of Alan Rebels, a paranormal investigator who travels to a remote British island following the mysterious disappearance of his father. Although his father spoke of the island many times over the years, Alan really only knows one thing for sure: his father was born there and spent his early childhood on the island.
As Alan, you’ll explore GodStone Island, come face-to-face with supernatural entities, and unravel ancient occult rituals that have been buried for centuries. He carries a mystical pendulum that helps him detect supernatural presence that can’t be seen with the naked eye. The pendulum also points him toward hidden objects, occult symbols, and essential clues needed to progress in the investigation. But it does more than that. At times, Alan can use the pendulum to make contact with spirits or receive information that would otherwise remain inaccessible.

All the familiar elements of the survival horror genre are here: intense exploration, that creeping sense of dread, and a gripping, personal story that really pulls you in. The game also includes a stealth element, because Alan avoids direct combat at all costs. So you’ll have to sneak your way through the story and make sure you don’t get caught. On top of surviving, puzzle-solving plays a big role too. The puzzles range from simple riddles to intricate challenges that require real knowledge and insight into the occult.
Next-gen graphics
We were honestly blown away by the quality of the game. Visually, it’s incredibly strong, and you can tell a lot of care went into the sound design as well. And that’s no coincidence. The Occultist features an original soundtrack by renowned composer Pepe Herrero. The game feels extremely immersive and pulls you into the story right from the start. We have to admit, it already feels like a triple-A title. The Occultist has so much potential and we genuinely can’t wait to play the full release. It’s already surpassing the expectations you’d normally have for an indie game.

A big thank you to the team for the invitation. It was an incredible experience!
