Introduction:
Welcome to Type:Rider Trophy Guide! This game will teach you the story of typography through the levels and the collectibles. An educational game made for any admirers of writing. The game is developed by Ex Nihilo.
Roadmap:
If you follow this guide, you can complete the game in one run. You will need to collect all the letters from A to Z and some ampersands (&). There are thirty-three collectibles on every level. The second step of the guide refers to the secret level with all his collectibles.
Here you have some general tips:
- Each level, except for the secret one, has four sections. You know you are going in the next section when there is a short black screen. The game saves every section automatically.
- You can use
to rotate and to make the two dots go faster (This is really helpful for the
Time Attack trophy).
- Keep calm and time your jumps because some parts can be a little tricky, especially on the “Clarendon” and the secret levels.
- The “Clarendon” level needs a little bit more of practice because of the
Desperado trophy and because the level is a little bit glitchy, especially both mine-cart rides, so time your jumps to land on the next rail without overturning the cart. The part where you are being shot at can be glitchy too but in your favor, because the target sometimes will shoot itself instead of targeting you.
- The secret level should be the trickiest level. It has no checkpoints and you have to be accurate in all the jumps you have to do

- You can select which level and which level section you want to play by pressing

Step 1: Story and collectibles
During this stage, you can play the story while getting all of the collectibles. There are thirty-three collectibles in every level, making for a total of eight levels.
The collectibles are:
- Twenty-seven letters, from A to Z, plus one ampersand (&) in each level – except the tutorial one.
- Six asterisks each level (tutorial included), except the secret one which has only one of it.
You’ll be earning these trophies: Collector
Explorer
The end
Step 2: Secret level
Once you have done all the story levels, you are going to unlock a secret one. To find the entrance to this secret level, once you have finished the game, move to the right where black squares block your way and they will crumble and reveal another path. Then you have to watch the credits until the end and dive into the water. On the left, there is a little cave with the secret level inside.
Complete it while collecting your last twenty-seven letters (from A to Z and Ampersand), and the last Asterisk. After that, read all the pages of the books in the main menu.
You’ll be earning these trophies: Lol
Thirst for Knowledge
Ampersand
Legend
A to Z
Step 3: Cleanup
This stage is optional, but you can do it to focus on the miscellaneous trophies.
During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:
360°
Wall Rider
Time Attack
Desperado
Guides:
![]() ![]() Retrieve all 6 asterisks in a chapter |
Asterisks are pretty straightforward on your way to the end of the level, so it’s hard to miss one of them. You can earn this trophy in the tutorial level by collecting them all. There are six of them in each of the chapters, except for the secret level, which has only one of them.
You will always find two asterisks in the first section of the level, one in the second section, two more in the third section, and the last one in the last section. If you miss one of them, you can check it from the main menu under the name of the level. If there is a dot instead of an Asterisk, it means that you need to collect one more.
Refer to the Legend trophy for more details.

Note: Once you have collected an Asterisk you don’t have to collect it again even if you die, but you need to finish the section of the current level to register it as collected.
![]() ![]() Find an ampersand (&) |
The firstAmpersand you encounter is in the “Gothic” level. These collectibles are more hidden compared to the others. There is one of it in every level, except for the tutorial. Refer to the Ampersand trophy for more details on their locations.

![]() ![]() Collect all letters |
Letters are pretty straight forward on your way to the end of the level, so it’s hard to miss one of them. There are twenty-six of them in all the levels plus the Ampersand one, except for the tutorial that has no Ampersand.
To unlock this trophy you need to collect all the Letters on every level. If you miss one of them, you can check it from the main menu on the left page of the book level. If there is a dot instead of a Letter, it means that you need to collect one more.
You can find the Letters from A to M in the first section and from N to Z in the third section of every level, except the secret one which has no sections. Follow the Type:rider 100% Walkthrough to be guided through all the levels located in the Roadmap section of this guide.

This is the first Letter you will encounter during the “Gothic” level
Notes:
This trophy may not pop at the end of the “Pixel” level like Ampersand. To trigger it, simply restart a level and collect one more letter.
Once you have collected an Ampersand, you don’t have to collect it again even if you die, but you need to finish the section of the current level to register it as collected.

![]() ![]() Complete the Gothic level in less than 3 minutes |

![]() ![]() Read all the books |
To get this trophy, you need to collect all Asterisks (See Legend for more details). When you are done with these collectibles, you have to go to the main menu and read every page of the book on each level. Make sure to scroll down the page until the end because if you only turn the pages, the trophy may not unlock.
![]() ![]() Complete the Clarendon level without dying |
This is the hardest trophy of the game. To achieve it, you have to complete the “Calendron” level without dying.
This level has four sections:
- The first one has one hardest part when you control the mine-cart because you can hardly control it.
- The second part is easy because you can only die by falling in the gaps between two platforms, so be careful. If the white ball explodes, it’s not counted as a death.
- The third part is the hardest one. A gun sight will appear and it will start to shoot at you when you are walking on the big O letter. It won’t stop shooting at you until the end of the level.
- The last part is tricky too because you will ride along some telegraph wires and you need to avoid the electricity that goes through them
If you die, you have to restart the entire level. You can’t just restart the section by pressing because restarting is counted as a death.
Note: There is a way to stop the gun sight: stay on the left side of the big O until it’s going to shoot at you, then quickly jump to the right. This trick will glitch the sight and it will never again shoot at you.

![]() ![]() Complete the secret level |
Once you have completed the “Pixel” level and unlocked The End, move to where the blocks stand and they will crumble and reveal another path, go ahead and the credits will begin. Once finished, dive into the water and swim to the left of the lake to find a little cave with the entrance to the secret level. You need to press
to enter this level. This level is short but it has no checkpoints.
It can be tricky due to the big cat that will pursue and kill you if you touch it. Time your jumps and don’t get frustrated. Below is a video showing the level if you need any help.
