Woodo is a chill cozy game where you have to place items in the right place, like a 3D puzzle. Here is our Woodo Preview.
At Gamescom, we got invited by the great people over at Daedalic to check out Woodo And The Occultist. If you are interested in the game, don’t forget to wishlist it on Steam to stay up to date for when it releases.
For Woodo, we got to play the game from the start, and even the start is a puzzle, to unlock the main menu and start the game, I had to piece the chest together with all the wood pieces I got. The best way I can describe the game is that it’s one of those phone games where you get stickers with numbers and have to figure out where they go, but this is in 3D and the pieces are wood. It’s incredibly satisfying and calming, as someone with autism, this game was so extremely soothing that in those stressful few days with a bunch of people around, this was my moment to chill and get drawn into the game.

I loved every moment of it, and the level we got to play was just so cool. We got to build part of a room and all the stuff in it, and it really was a challenge in the beginning, but the more you build, the easier things become. After completing some of the things, you could zoom into it and that would have a puzzle on its own with its own pieces and puzzle to solve. for example, there was a table we made and when the table was done, we could zoom into it and get all the plates, food, and cutlery on it as well, which added another layer to it.

There was also a story to the game, but that part was explained to us but we couldn’t fully experience that due to the timeframe we had, so our main focus was on the gameplay. The gameplay alone was already enough to get us hooked and fall in love with the game.
